Jaipur: Minor’s Reckless SUV Driving Injures Four at Nagar Kirtan

A disturbing accident in Jaipur’s Jawahar Nagar area on Thursday night shocked the community during a Sikh Nagar Kirtan. A minor, recklessly driving an SUV, plowed through the procession, leaving four people injured and sparking outrage among participants and locals.

The Incident

The mishap occurred at approximately 8 PM as the Nagar Kirtan procession advanced from Jawahar Nagar Pulia to Panchvati Circle. The SUV, speeding from Govind Marg, struck several individuals before entering the crowd. Despite attempts by police officers in the procession to halt the vehicle, the minor panicked and hit more people.

Among the injured were two adults and two children, including Gurmeet Singh, 45, who was walking with the procession. All victims were rushed to SMS Hospital’s trauma center for treatment and are reported to be stable.

Crowd Reaction

Eyewitnesses stopped the vehicle and pulled out the minor driver. In their outrage, they damaged the SUV and physically confronted him. The two other passengers managed to escape. The minor was handed over to the police, and the vehicle was towed for investigation.

Police Action

The SUV, registered under a private company, is now under investigation. A medical test was conducted on the minor driver, and police are searching for the other occupants. Community leaders have demanded strict action, ensuring justice for the victims and prevention of such incidents.
